Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using VoiceLight ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service. This is a space for creative expression and healing, and we expect all users to contribute to a safe and supportive environment.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally capable of entering into binding agreements. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the Service.

3. Use of the Service

VoiceLight is a platform where content creators perform and audiences show real appreciation. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial and commercial creative purposes. You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

4. User Content

You retain full ownership of the content you create on VoiceLight, including your poems and recordings ("User Content"). By choosing to share your content publicly or anonymously, you grant VoiceLight a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display that content within the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you create and share, and you represent that you have all necessary rights to do so.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Post any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Post any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors (see our CSAE Policy).
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Violate the privacy or rights of others.
  • Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service.
  • Attempt to circumvent payment systems or fees.

We reserve the right to remove any content and terminate accounts that violate these guidelines to maintain the safety and integrity of our community.

6. Payments, Subscriptions, and Gifts

Premium Subscriptions

VoiceLight offers a Premium subscription at £4.99/month or £45/year. Subscriptions are billed through Base44 Payments. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, your Premium access will continue until the end of your current billing period.

Gifts and Donations

Users can send financial gifts to creators or make donations to support the platform. All payments are processed securely by Base44 Payments. The platform retains a 10% commission on creator gifts to cover payment processing and platform maintenance. The remaining amount is allocated to the creator's account for payout.

Fan Subscriptions

Fans can subscribe to individual creators for £4.99/month to access supporters-only content. Fan subscriptions auto-renew monthly and can be cancelled at any time. The platform's 10% commission applies to fan subscription payments.

7. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of the Service, payments for Premium subscriptions and fan subscriptions are generally non-refundable. You may request a refund within 14 days of the initial purchase if you have not used the Premium features, in accordance with UK consumer law. Gift and donation payments are non-refundable once processed. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at hello@voicelight.co.uk within 14 days of the charge.

8. Creator Payouts

Creators who receive gifts and fan subscriptions may request payout of their earnings. Payouts are subject to verification and may be delayed for fraud prevention. The platform is not responsible for any tax obligations arising from creator earnings — creators are responsible for declaring their income in accordance with applicable tax laws.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. You may terminate your account by contacting support and requesting account deletion.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. VoiceLight is a creative and supportive tool, not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

11. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall VoiceLight, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
